Engineman Second Class Richard Meyer joined the Navy from his hometown of San Leandro, CA in September of 2012. After graduating boot camp and Engineman “A” school in Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended expeditionary combat skills training in Gulfport, Mississippi. He then served five years with EOD Mobile Unit One in San Diego, CA. There he completed three deployments attached to expeditionary mine countermeasure and unmanned systems platoons. EN2 Meyer is currently attached to Navy Recruiting District San Francisco, and works out of the San Leandro office. He lives in the East Bay with his wife and son.
